the Catalpa tree

The Minister makes mention of the Catalpa tree in full blossom whenever we pass by one in bloom. For him, the Catalpa tree brings back memories of his childhood. The yearly blossoming of the Catalpa tree signaled his family's summer vacation journey north into upper Michigan to fish and swim and joyfully frolic together with other relatives that joined them with their campers at Portage Lake.
